The XQ-6.3-19DGA is a series wound DC motor — it belongs to the brushed DC motor family. Current is fed to the rotor through carbon brushes and a commutator, which gives very high starting torque and a wide speed range. The trade-off is brush wear: brushes are a normal service item (typically replaced every 1,000-2,000 operating hours depending on duty cycle). Compared with brushless DC motors, brushed DC motors are cheaper and far simpler to control — that is why most 72V battery low-speed vehicles, golf carts and sightseeing cars still run on them. For a low-speed vehicle the high starting torque matters most: it pulls away from a standstill with passengers or cargo on board without bogging down.
A series wound motor places the field winding in series with the armature, so torque rises sharply as load increases and is highest at standstill. That is exactly what a low-speed vehicle needs: a strong pull-away from zero speed, then a natural speed increase as the load eases. The XQ-6.3-19DGA is rated 2500 rpm at 6.3 kW (8.4 HP) on a 72V battery, with a 19-tooth pinion output and an integrated speed encoder. The pinion meshes directly with the vehicle transaxle or gearbox, and the encoder drives the speedometer so the driver sees true speed without a separate sensor. With IP44 splash-proof enclosure and Class F insulation, it is built for outdoor golf-cart and sightseeing-car duty, not just indoor warehouse floors.

Q: Does the XQ-6.3-19DGA output a speed signal for the speedometer?
A: Yes. The motor carries an integrated speed encoder on the 19-tooth pinion shaft. It sends a clean pulse signal directly to the vehicle speedometer or digital speed display, so the driver reads true ground speed without fitting a separate wheel or transmission sensor. Tell our engineering team your display's signal type (open-collector / hall / voltage pulse) and we match the encoder output at the factory.
Q: Is IP44 protection enough for outdoor low-speed vehicles?
A: IP44 blocks solid objects larger than 1 mm and water splashing from any direction — it suits golf carts, sightseeing cars and utility vehicles that run outdoors in light rain or get occasional splashes. It is NOT rated for high-pressure washdown or immersion; if your vehicle is hosed down daily, ask our engineering team about IP54 or higher.
Q: What is the standard lead time?
A: Standard lead time is 15-25 working days for sample orders and 25-35 working days for bulk orders, shipping from Shanghai or Ningbo port. Confirm exact lead time for your volume at inquiry.
