Brushed DC Motor Family

The XQ-4.5-6S is a series wound DC motor — it belongs to the brushed DC motor family. Current is fed to the rotor through carbon brushes and a commutator, which gives very high starting torque and a wide speed range. The trade-off is brush wear: brushes are a normal service item (typically replaced every 1,000–2,000 operating hours depending on duty cycle). Compared with brushless DC motors, brushed DC motors are cheaper and simpler to control — that is why most 48V battery forklifts, tow tractors and AGV drive wheels still use them.

How to Choose the Right Traction Motor

• By voltage: match your battery — this model is 48V DC; 24V/72V versions available on request.
• By load: 4.5 kW suits mid-size forklifts, tow tractors and most AGV drive wheels; lighter carts need a 0.8–2.2 kW model; heavier industrial trucks need 5–7.5 kW.
• By speed: 1500 rpm rated, 3200 rpm max — confirm against your wheel/gear ratio and controller setting.
• Customization: voltage, current, shaft and B5 flange orientation can be customized — contact engineering with your spec.
