The XQ-6.3-2 is a series wound DC motor — it belongs to the brushed DC motor family. Current is fed to the rotor through carbon brushes and a commutator, which gives very high starting torque and a wide speed range (1200 rpm rated, up to 3200 rpm no-load). The trade-off is brush wear: brushes are a normal service item (typically replaced every 1,000–2,000 operating hours depending on duty cycle). For Class III forklifts, tow tractors and AGVs, brushed DC motors are still the practical choice — simpler to control and cheaper than brushless options at this power level. Brush replacements are also a recurring service part, easy to source.
The XQ-6.3-2 comes with an external splined shaft (6-tooth, f9 fit) instead of a plain keyed shaft. Splines spread the torque load across all teeth instead of concentrating it on one keyway, so the shaft can transmit more peak torque without keyway shearing — exactly what you want in a forklift lift cycle or an AGV stop-and-go duty. It also indexes concentrically so coupling alignment is more forgiving, which shortens install time on the production line.

Q: The nameplate says 45V — is this a 45V motor or a 48V motor?
A: It's a 48V system motor. 45V on the nameplate is a common industry labelling convention for 48V battery platforms (the actual nominal pack voltage of a fully charged 48V lead-acid or Li-ion pack sits around 48–54V, with a 45V nominal point often used in legacy Chinese traction-motor documentation). Match it with a 48V battery pack as standard.
Q: Can you customize the spline for XQ-6.3-2?
A: Yes. OEM/ODM supported — spline count, fit grade, length and lead configuration can be customized. Plain keyed shaft also available on request. Send your gearbox input spec to our engineering team.
Q: What is the standard lead time?
A: Standard lead time is 15–25 working days for sample orders; 25–35 working days for bulk orders. Shipping from Shanghai or Ningbo port.
